Print of the original oil Painting of Margaret of York, Duchess of Burgundy, by Dmitry Yakhovsky, 2022.

As part of an alliance between England and Burgundy, Edward IV married his sister, Margaret of York to the Duke of Burgundy, Charles the Bold. This painting is based on the contemporary portrait of Margaret done by one of the Flemish Primitives, which she very much supported. In the contemporary painting, Margaret wears the same necklace. The coronet is based on her actual coronet still existing and now kept in the Treasury of Aachen Cathedral. Margaret's dress is similar to the ones she wears seen in illuminated manuscripts.

Margaret and Charles were married in Damme (near Bruges) on 3 July 1468.
